I spent this past weekend watching some amazing speakers at TedxVancouver and TedxSFU. Although they were two distinct events, with different themes, a couple of elements remain consistent.
Monday Mantra is below... :)
Monday Mantra is below... :)
1. Everyone needs support. Speakers don't get there alone and the stage isn't created by one person. Everyone who took the stage has some sort of support, whether it was community, family or coaches. There were 100s of volunteers who worked really hard so that the events could come aliv over the past year.
2. Inspiration is everywhere. Although every speaker had a unique topic, I found something that resonated with me in each one. When I am looking for inspiration, I will find it.
I attached my own Tedx Talk from last year! Exactly one year ago today I took the stage and got very vulnerable as I shared my story and why running is so SOLE important to me. It took a great deal of vulnerability to be able to share my story, and a lot of courage.
I am so grateful for this opportunity to be able to share, but it wasn't easy.
Here is a quote from my all time favourite TED Speaker Brene Brown:

“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
Monday Mantra
I choose to embrace my vulnerability and accept myself as perfectly imperfect.
